Spring Forest Bathing at Minnewaska
Immerse yourself in the beautiful forest at Minnewaska on this guided walk led by Jane Dobson with Mind the Forest. The wellness practice of Forest Bathing is the perfect antidote to the fatigue and stress many of us feel as a result of our technology-laden and busy lives. On this approximately half-mile walk, we will slow down and directly experience the world through our senses. We’ll rekindle curiosity and let go of our to-do lists. As we mindfully connect with the natural world, our perspective shifts, opening us to awe and wonder, and deepening our sense of connection. This wellness practice continues to grow across the globe as science demonstrates the health benefits of Forest Bathing, including reduced stress and anxiety, improved mood, focus and sleep. Join us for one or all sessions of this five-part spring series as we use mindfulness to explore themes of sensory anesthesia, species loneliness, and our relationship with time. This program is open to participants aged 16 and older, with minors accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Meet at the Lake Minnewaska Visitor Center. Pre-registration is required by calling the Lake Minnewaska Visitor Center at 845-255-0752.

Forest Bathing at Crescent Farm Hudson Valley
Forest Bathing at Crescent HV. Immerse yourself in nature on this guided meditative walk inspired by the Japanese wellness practice Shinrin Yoku. More a saunter than a hike, we’ll move slowly through the landscape as we directly experience the world through our senses. As we mindfully connect with the natural world, our perspective shifts. Shedding our analytic, thinking minds, we can find our intuitive selves and tap into our innate wisdom and knowledge. We open ourselves to the powerful, even transformative, emotions of awe and wonder, and deepen our sense of connection to ourselves, others and the larger world around us. This guided experience incorporates breath awareness, mindful walking, quiet nature observation and traditional council sharing practices. Albert Einstein so wisely stated, “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
$30 suggested or pay-what-you-can. Bring water, a hat, bug-spray, and wear walking/hiking shoes.
Mindful Meadow Walk at Inness
Join Instructor Jane Dobson for a guided meditative walk through the serene meadows at Inness. Inspired by the Japanese wellness practice of Shinrin Yoku, this mindful nature experience offers a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of our tech-driven lives. Rooted in research, time spent in nature has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety while boosting mood, focus, and sleep. This practice encourages awe and deepens our connection with ourselves, each other, and the natural world.
We’ll meet outside the Event Barn at 11:45am. Please allow yourself 5-10 minutes to park and make your way down to the meeting area.
Please dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes, as this is a slow-paced, restorative walk open to all fitness levels. No dogs allowed. The event is suitable for ages 16 and up.
RSVP is required. This event is only open to INNESS Members and Hotel Guests. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to receive a refund. Please contact spa@inness.co or call 845.377.0030 x 132 to book. Members receive a 15% discount on this class.

Forest Bathing - Inness Resort
Step outside - mindfully - and feel the difference. This Mindful Woods Walk is more a saunter than hiking or exercise. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Forest Bathing, this guided experience allows to shift from our thinking minds, where we spend most of our time, to a direct sensory experience of what’s around us in the natural world. It’s no surprise that this connection is essential for our health and well-being as our human species evolved in the outdoors. Even after small amounts of time in nature, the science shows that our bodies respond with a lowering of our stress hormone cortisol, reduced anxiety, improved mood, focus and sleep. More than the science, nature connects us to ourselves and to others.
Join for any one or all of this 3-part series. Each month in September, October, November we explore a unique aspect of Forest Bathing from embodiment, to species loneliness and relationship, to our sense of time. The cost per person for Mohonk Preserve members: $20/session, $55/series. The cost for non-members: $23/session, $62/series.
